(Yes, the T in tag is actually a T; I didn’t spell it wrong haha. The font just makes it look like a J.)
Hi everyone! ☺️
Yay, I’m back with another book tag!! I love writing these kinds of posts; book tags are really fun to do, and easier to write than book reviews. 😂🤷🏻♀️
Thank you again to the lovely Lily @ Sprinkles of Dreams for tagging me in her comments! I really appreciate it. 😊💗
Oh, before I get started, I just want to make one random announcement about my blog. I recently added a Reviews page to my blog, which displays all my reviews in alphabetical order by author’s last name. I don’t have many reviews up yet, since I am a new blog, but (hopefully) that will change as I write more and more reviews. So feel free to check out that page! Thank you. ❤️
Now, let’s get started! 😄
1. How many books is too many in a book series?
I used to be really invested in book series and was able to read and enjoy up to ten books in a series (the good old days, when I actually had free time…now I’m like, what’s free time? lmao). The Percy Jackson series (both PJO and HOO) is still one of my favorite series, though!! 😍💙
Now, I think three or four books is my limit when it comes to book series, because I don’t have the time or energy to read any more. I mainly read standalone books nowadays, which is (kinda) sad. I think I should try getting back into book series since I know I used to really enjoy them. 🙂
2. How do you feel about cliffhangers?
Like many people, I have a love/hate relationship with cliffhangers. I love them yet hate them, you know what I mean??? :’) I hate not knowing what happens next, BUT I also love it when books make me feel emotions, and cliffhangers definitely make me feel (lots of) emotions. Haha.
Cliffhangers are the worst when they are in the middle of a book series. The ending of The Mark of Athena, anyone??? (Thank goodness I read it when The House of Hades was already out, or else I would’ve died.)
3. Hardcover or paperback?
I honestly don’t mind either, but if I had to choose, I guess…paperback. They’re lighter, softer (haha I like the softness of paperbacks, if that makes sense), and just easier to carry around than hardcovers. If only paperbacks were more durable. Sigh.
4. Favorite book?
It’s literally not possible for me to choose just one favorite book…so here are a few of my favorite books:
Can you tell that Rick Riordan is one of my favorite authors?? Because he is. 🙂
Ahhh, just look at all those gorgeous covers. 😍
Also, I know I put 8 books here when the question only asked for one… I’M SORRY. I JUST LOVE THEM ALL.
I highly recommend all of these books, by the way. If you haven’t read them, please do!! I promise you won’t regret it.
5. Least favorite book?
Ahhh, this is a hard question to answer as well!! 😩 I’m not really sure, to be honest. I know, that’s a terrible answer!! 😂 But I honestly can’t think of a least favorite book right now, whoops.
6. Love triangles, yes or no?
It depends. If they’re done well, yes. Most of the time, though, they’re not written well, so no.
7. The most recent book you just couldn’t finish?
I haven’t really DNF-ed any books recently, but I think a few months ago, I started My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick and never got around to finishing it for some reason. (Oops.) I may have gotten a little bored. I know I should try to finish it, someday!
8. A book you’re currently reading?
I’m currently reading Girl Made of Stars by Ashley Herring Blake. 💫 I’m about halfway through it and I’m loving it so far! It’s an amazing, heartbreaking, and emotional read. (And the cover is absolutely gorgeous, I’m in love. 😍)
Future Dezzy here! Since I procrastinated on this post (whoops 😂), I’m now reading another book, since I finished Girl Made of Stars a few days ago. It’s called The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Khoury and it’s a retelling of Aladdin! I’m really enjoying it so far. ☺️
9. Last book you recommended to someone?
I literally have the worst memory ever, so I don’t even know. 😂 It might have been Autoboyography by Christina Lauren or the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, though, since I love those books with all my life.
10. Oldest book you’ve read? (Publication date)
Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, first published in 1597. I read that for school (of course), once in 7th grade and once in 9th grade. :’) (I strongly dislike (maybe even hate) this play. 🤷🏻♀️)
11. Newest book you’ve read? (Publication date)
Girl Made of Stars by Ashley Herring Blake!! ☺️ It was published on May 15, 2018.
12. Favorite author?
Haha, I’m sure you can guess my answer by now…Rick Riordan!!. I honestly love all of his books so much (the Magnus Chase trilogy, the Kane Chronicles, and the Trials of Apollo (although I’m not caught up, whoops 🙈) ).
And of course, the PJO/HOO series. These books will forever have a special place in my heart, because they’re amazing, diverse, hilarious, empowering, heartbreaking, emotional, and *inserts every positive adjective here*. Through this series, Rick Riordan first showed me the importance of diversity and that representation matters.
13. Buying books or borrowing books?
I want to say buying books (I wish I owned all of the PJO/HOO series!! but I don’t 😭), but most of the books I read are from my library, so borrowing books. I’m so grateful to have access to a library with so many books; the library is the reason why I’m able to read, because without one, I wouldn’t have read as many books as I have today. Thank you for everything, library. 📚💗
14. A book you dislike that everyone else seems to love?
Ahhh, another hard question!! I can’t think of a lot of books that fit into that criteria, mainly because I haven’t read a lot of the books that are popular and everyone seems to love, whoops. 😂 (Like Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I really need to read that book soon, because literally everyone I know loves that book!!)
Anyway…I guess I have to say The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I read it a few years ago so I don’t remember much about it, but I remember not loving it. (But I don’t hate it either. It was just a “meh” book for me. I’M SORRY.)
15. Bookmarks or dog-ears?
Bookmarks, of course!! (I say “bookmarks” pretty loosely, though, because I use a lot of things as bookmarks. 😂 Receipts, post-its, random pieces of paper lying around…can you tell that I’m not a very organized person?)
16. A book you can always reread?
Uhh…can I cheat and say the PJO/HOO series?? 😂 It’s true, though, I can always reread any book from that series. It’s the best. 😭💙
Ok, fine, I’ll say another book: Autoboyography by Christina Lauren. 😍 I’ve already reread it once, and that’s saying a lot because I don’t usually reread standalone books.
17. Can you read while hearing music?
Nope. I’ve tried, but music distracts me; I always end up humming or singing along to the music instead of actually reading. 😂😩
18. One POV or multiple POVs?
Can I say both?? I love one POV because I get to understand one character much more in depth, but I also like multiple POVs because I love getting to know every single character and having an omniscient understanding of the book. 🙂
19. Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?
I used to be able to read so many books in one sitting, but now, I don’t have the time. ☹️Nowadays, I read a book over multiple days, which is fine – but I just love the rare times when I can read a book in one sitting. It’s incredible being able to finish a book in one sitting, because you’re immersed into an entirely different world for a few hours, and that’s one of the best feelings in the world, in my opinion.
20. Who do you tag?
Since I did this tag pretty late, and a lot of people have already done this tag, I’m not going to tag anyone specifically. If you would like to do this tag, consider yourself tagged by me! 😊 Mention me in your post and I’d love to read your responses to these 20 questions!
Wow, this post turned out to be much longer than I expected, haha. (Almost 1600 words!!) This is my longest post yet, yay!! 🎉 I had a lot of fun writing this post, and I hope you enjoyed reading my responses!! Thank you so much if you read this entire post, you’re AMAZING. (If you didn’t, that’s okay, you’re amazing too. 😂❤️)
Do you love the Percy Jackson series (and Rick Riordan) as much as I do? Which is A LOT (as you can tell), hehe. Can you relate to any of my answers? If you do, please let me know, I’d love to see how much we have in common! 💗
Wow, can you believe that it’s already July and we’re already halfway done with 2018?! 🤯 Because I can’t. Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful July!! 😊

On a calmer note (XD) I just finished reading Thunderhead AND THERE IS NO WAY ON EARTH I CAN WAIT A YEAR FOR THE 3RD BOOK.
(okkkk that wasn’t as calm as I wanted it to be. 😂)
I loved all of your answers! I haven’t read Autoboyography yet, but it sounds pretty good!

Thank you so much, I’m glad you liked my answers! 💗 Ahhh you need to read Autoboyography; it’s such a beautiful book.

Ohhh my gosh you were so lucky to read Mark of Athena when House of Hades was already out! I remember reading that ending, my mouth dropping in horror, knowing I wouldn’t know if my kids were going to be okay for another year 😭 Honestly Mark of Athena traumatised me 😂

Hahaha ikr!! 😂😭😩 I literally couldn’t believe that Rick did that to us, but thankfully, all I had to do was reach for The House of Hades and continue reading. 😂 Thank you so much for commenting! ☺️💗

Loved your answers!! I love Rick Riordan’s books but there are so many! I want them all but I can’t keep up! I loved PJO and started the Heroes of Olympus but I haven’t finished the series yet. I’m hoping to do that soon so I can read Magnus Chace and The Trials of Apollo!

YAAAAAAAAS THIS POST MADE ME SO HAPPY! First of all, I totally relate with the series question. I used to binge 7-10 book series, but now I mostly read standalones/series starters and not the rest of the series. 😦 So happy to see House of Hades on your list!!! I can’t decide whether I love that one or Mark of Athena more. Same goes with The Last Olympian vs Battle of the Labyrinth. xD BUT YES PJO IS A SERIES I ALWAYS RETURN TO. When I’m in a slump, I reread scenes from the books I mentioned^ also a toooon of Percabeth fanfiction. ♥♥

Omg same, I used to read sooo much Percabeth fanfiction and PJO fanfiction in general. 😂 Thank you so much, again, for commenting! This comment made my day. 💞

I think series that have more than 3 books is insanity! They terrify me. 😱 I’m slowly, slooowly making my way through the Shadowhunters Chronicle and Percy Jackson. 🐌 BUT! You make me want to read Percy Jackson faster! 💛

Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry for my late reply! I didn’t see this until now 🙈 I agree, long series terrify me too haha. And yay, I’m so happy to hear that! Percy Jackson is the best 💙
